  • <H2><b>Lake Gatun</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>Lake Gatun, the artificial fresh water body linking through locks the Pacific with the Atlantic Oceans, offers a sureal view of large sea vessels crossing in a tropical central american landscape.</P>
  • <H2><b>Canons</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>These rusted canon once protected the spanish fort of San Lorenzo from any invasion from land or sea. They are now a reminder of a Panama that no longer exist, the Panama of the Spaniards and of the greater Columbia.</P>
  • <H2><b>Fort San Lorenzo</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>The Spaniards realized the strategic importance of Panama early in the 16th century, and they established military outpost to allow for the transfer of gold and precious cargo from their Pacific fleet to their Atlantic fleet. The ruins of Fort San Lorenzo shown on this picture date back to the 16th century and were declared a world heritage by the UNESCO in 1983.</P>
  • <H2><b>Tropical Flower</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>Like neighboring Costa Rica, Panama has a rich and interesting tropical rainforest yielding beautiful tropical plants.</P>
  • <H2><b>Gatun Locks</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>When arriving in Panama from the Atlantic side, ships that want to cross the Panama Canal have to go through the Gatun's Lock as shown in this picture.</P>

  • <H2><b>Old clock tower</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>An old clock tower in the heart of the modern city. The orange bus of the Geneva pubic transport system adds a tad of color to the scene.</P>
  • <H2><b>Geneva</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>The "Rade" in Geneva, and its most characteristic features: the "jet d'eau", and the banks in the background! The red and gold boat is a Geneva "Mouette" (mew), part of the (touristic) public transportation system.</P>
  • <H2><b>Two horses</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>It become increasingly more common to find horses in the Jura mountain. People rent them to toursits, and for a reasonable price you can take a ride through the gentle landscape of this region.</P>
  • <H2><b>Dandelion field</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>The "Dandelion" is the most characteristic flower of spring days in the meadows of the Jura mountains. It's golden color contrasts well with the green of the grass.</P>
  • <H2><b>Two farms</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>These two farms are located in Les Bayards, a very small village in the Neuchatel canton. All of my brothers were borned in this village, and we still own a farm there. Another place close to my heart.</P>
  • <H2><b>Happy Cow</b></H2> <P ALIGN=LEFT>Here is a typical view of Switzerland: a cow, happy, in a green field. This one, photographed in Les Bayards, was particularily nonchalent.</P>
